Every fall I try to store 12 of these pie filling recipes in my freezer. We can then enjoy an Apple Pie a month. Filling for one Apple Pie.
4-6 medium Apples, peeled and thinly sliced
3 Tbsp Flour
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 cup butter, cut in to small chunks
Cut only the number of apples that will fill your favorite pie pan. Move the apples from your pie pan to a large bowl. Mix in the rest of the ingredients with apples. This is now ready to use in your next pie. But if you wish to store this for later. Place into a gallon freezer bag, squeeze as much air out as you can and store for up to 6 months.
